FESTIVAL GETAWAY: SILVES MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL

 

 One of my favorite festivals to visit takes place in the beautiful Castle of Silves, Portugal.  Its one of Portugal's most dynamic and renowed Medieval Fairs. The festivities run for 10 days in August. Visitors take part in recreations of activities as they may have happened centuries ago when Silves was the capital of the Kingdom of the Algarve. Moorish and Christian traditions are on display throughout the grounds of the castle. You will experience music, veiled dancers, snake charmers, jugglers, acrobats, nobleman and ladies parading in their finest costumes. Amazing regional foods are available at a number of food vendors.

One of my favorite things to do is wander through the castle and check out the amazing array of bohemian products: clothing, accessories (most of them handmade and one of a kind)  and decor. I am in Boho heaven.

Stevie Nicks is one of the most iconic rock stars of all time, and one of my favorite fashion muses. She captivates audiences with her raspy voice, free spirit, strong attitude and amazing bohemian style. Many of her signature pieces, fringe, blanket coats, flares, capes, and lace, are reemerging as major trends, but she is and will always be one of a kind!
